Jaws of life used to save woman

-

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a major car accident in Palmerston yesterday.

The 70-year-old was turning right out of Lakeview Blvd across Chung Wah Tce when she crossed into the path of an oncoming 4WD ute.

NT Fire and Rescue crews had to use the jaws of life to extract the woman from her yellow Toyota.

She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 41-year-old male driver of the ute was not injured in the accident. Watch Commander Geoff Bahnert said both the man and the woman were sober.

“They were both doing everything right except that the female failed to give way to the right,” he said.
