Lawyer loses drivers’ licence for five years

A DARWIN lawyer lost his drivers’ licence for five years this week after multiple appearance­s in court on drink driving-related offences.

Ian McMinn was convicted and proven guilty of high-range drink driving after blowing 0.174.

McMinn, who has worked as a prosecutor and a defence lawyer, was also charged with failing to comply with a breath test request and disorderly behaviour in a public place but the charges were withdrawn.

McMinn was also convicted and proven guilty of medium range drink driving (0.145) in 2013 and in 2009 was found guilty of failing to provide breath for analysis.
