-

IF you’re looking for something to do with the kids this school holidays, then City of Darwin has got you covered.

Lord Mayor Katrina Fong Lim said she was excited about the range of fun activities offered by Council for kids of all ages throughout this school holidays from Monday, October 3.

“City of Darwin Libraries, LAUNCH Darwin and our Fun in the Parks team have produced fantastic school holiday programs which are sure to keep the kids busy,” Ms Fong Lim said.

With Bird Week right around the corner, City of Darwin Libraries has organised a Make your own Bird Feeder workshop throughout the week.

Have fun exploring birds, their habitats and learn what things you can do at home to encourage birds and other animals into your backyard.

Build your own bird feeder and find out how you can participate in a national Citizen Science project to count all the birds in Australia.

Other activities hosted by Libraries include an array of free family movies suitable for all ages throughout the week and a special story time on Friday, October 7, at City Library.

Star Wars Reads Day on Saturday, October 8, at Karama Library is an event not to be missed. Celebrate all things Star Wars with activities, games, fun and giveaways on the day. For the older kids, LAUNCH Darwin is hosting a Pirate, Potter, Pokemon Scavenger Hunt at the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens on Thursday, October 6 from 10am to 1pm.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up as their favourite character to be in the running to win some great prizes.

The event is free and is for ages 12 and above — anyone younger must be accompanied by an adult.
