Stabbed woman critical

A WOMAN has been left with critical injuries after her partner attacked her with a knife in Alice Springs on Friday afternoon.

Police are calling for witnesses who may have seen the assault or a dark coloured hatchback parked on Larapinta Drive around 3.45pm.

Detective Senior Constable First Class, Damien Barbe said the 30-year-old woman sustained critical injuries from the attack.

“The female was travelling westbound with her male partner in a dark grey or black hatchback vehicle when they stopped and exited the car near the Larapinta Primary School around 3.45pm,” he said.

“A verbal argument has turned violent, resulting in the male assaulting the female with a knife.

“The male has then departed in the hatchback leaving the female behind.”
