Dogged runner-up It’s Your Money could repay with winning dividends

- JOSH SPASARO

IT’S Your Money could finally give a return to his patient punters at Winnellie Park tonight.

The three-year-old dog has drawn box one for race six at 7.27pm. The Christopher Blackman-trained dog has finished second in four of his past six races, the last win on July 3.

Race one at 5.48pm is only a six-dog field but will be highly competitive.

Graeme Scott’s Triple Crown Kev and Ronald Phillips’ Storm Blazer are last-start winners, while Russell Savige’s Volantis and Scott’s Hanson Harley have shown good recent form.

Phillips’ veteran Arnhem Chaos has not won since July 10 but has drawn box one and Graeme Ferns’ fellow veteran Presh should also not be dismissed from box two.

Here’s the hot tip for race two ... the winner will come from the Richard/Leta Smith or Russell Savige stable.

In a small five-dog race with just the three trainers vying for a win, last-start winner Gammon Girl (Leta Smith) could repeat that effort after drawing box one.

Fabbenz (Ferns) is a good bet for race three. She finished fifth in her last run, but won her two previous races and has box eight.

Leading Darwin Grey- hound Association trainer Jamie Hosking would like his chances in race four.

Good Bye Joan ( winning two weeks ago and in box one) and Wayne Outwide (three firsts and a second from his past four races, and in box two) have drawn well.

It is also hard to go past Hosking’s Our Josie (four wins from her past five runs) in race five.

Ferns’ Klondite Kate has good early speed in race seven’s Restricted Dash, and three-year-old Dooley’s Sprite (for Steele Bolton) will run for the first time in Darwin.

Ferns’ Amanpour will be hard to run down in race eight after drawing box eight.
