Jen says Donald ‘a gent’

JENNIFER Hawkins has defended Donald Trump after a video emerged of an awkward conversation between the pair in front of a live audience.

The former Miss Universe says Mr Trump has always respected her.

“Donald and his family ... have always been respectful to me,” the 32-year-old said at yesterday’s Derby Day racing celebrations in Melbourne.

“So as much as everyone wants me to bag him, it’s not in my nature. I don’t like drama, I don’t like to get into politics publicly, so that’s why I’ve kind of, not avoided it, just haven’t openly been out there.”

Her comments follow the release of a video where Mr Trump makes lewd comments about Hawkins.
