FUN DAY KICKS OFF
PALMERSTON Harmony Day Family Festival is back.
Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity.
It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
To celebrate, head along to the Gray Football Stadium on Saturday, April 1 from 3pm to 9pm to learn about new cultures and enjoy plenty of fun and activities for the whole family, including cultural performances, soccer matches, art activities, jumping castles, water slides, face painters, penalty shootout competitions, with food and drinks available.
Football without Borders’ Pat Sim said football was played by more people in more countries than any other sport in the world.
Players on the day will also promote NO MORE to Family Violence and will link arms before each match as a show of support.
City of Palmerston Mayor Ian Abbott and the city was thrilled to be holding the event.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring people, families, and cultures together in a friendly and fun environment,” he said.
“We are also a proud Refugee Welcome Zone, and are committed to playing an important role in helping refugee and migrant families so the Family Festival is a great way to show our support.”
Travel on the Darwinbus network is free of charge to the Family Festival between 1pm and 11pm, Saturday, April 1 for travellers holding a valid 2017 Harmony Day flyer. Download a flyer to show the driver on the day at palmerston.nt.gov.au
