Big rig crash triggers road delays

-

THE Stuart Hwy was closed for part of yesterday after a road train rolled about 45km north of Katherine.

NT Police said no one was injured in the accident, which occurred at about 5.53am.

Initial reports were that the highway was blocked. It was partially opened to traffic just before 5pm, with reduced speed limits.

One motorist, who commented on the NT Police Facebook post, said the rear two trailers were flipped.

She said it appeared the road train had been heading south before it crashed.

“Cab and first trailer upright,” she posted.

Queues of drivers reportedly waited more than an hour to get past.
