Sevens up, Australians rule Dubai
AUSTRALIA is back to its winning ways – and in some style – after taking out the first leg of the World Series.
The Aussies thrashed USA in the Cup final of the Dubai leg of the women’s rugby union sevens, running in a mammoth six tries in their 34-0 victory.
Coach Tim Walsh was pleased to see the work in preseason come together.
“To see them get better game upon game was just exceptional,” Walsh said.
Emma Tonegato made a triumphant return from injury to be player of the final and Evania Pelite was player of the tournament.
Preparations now begin for the Sydney Sevens at the end of January.
