Learning is our core business

-

BEES Creek Primary School is committed to delivering on its core business of ‘learning’ and celebrates the achievement gains to date.

It is a place committed to building the necessary knowledge and competencies for students to thrive and succeed in learning and life.

Bees Creek Primary School’s educative purpose is to cause learning and to serve each learner.

Developing each learner holistically is critical in creating curious individuals who think and relate well to others.

The school’s learning philosophy rests on the bees’ keys to learning principles — questioning, being reflective, collaborating, taking risks, being self aware and being resilient.

The focus on developing learners’ capacity to thrive in tricky situations — knowing what to do when they don’t know what to do — is valued highly.

Teachers explicitly teach learners strategies to get out of ‘I’m stuck’ situations.

It is our aim that being stuck is celebrated and harnessed as an opportunity to build each individual’s learning capacity.

The learning process is another essential learning strategy that is intentionally taught to enable learners to proactively advance their own learning, problem find and problem solve creatively and face their changing future with confidence.

Bees Creek Primary School prides themselves in making learning visible.

Learning progressions are displayed in ‘learner friendly’ language to help their learners know how am I going?, where am I going?, and where to next?

By making learning and progress visible, the school empowers both their learners and their parents.
