Fashionistas are looking to the shade to what Pantone have said is a mystical, serene inclusion for a fresh new year.

In all of its rich, regal glory, Ultra Violet will pave the purple path for the softest shade of violet to deep rich jewelled tones of dark purple.
It’s a colour that’s expected to be replicated across beauty trends, graphic design and packaging, food, interior design and homewares, let alone fashion.
Historically, purple was known as the colour of royalty, as it was the most expensive colour to produce.
Modern efficiencies have made it a colour for commoners too, but it’s still a popular colour for both Her Majesty and Princess Catherine wardrobe too. Perhaps Meghan Markle will look to maeve as her go-to shade.
