Pickard’s trio looms large in sprint

- JOSH SPASARO

CAROL Pickard’s kennel is flying, and in-form runners Arabian Khaleese, Worthy Moment and Hawke’s Special hold the aces in the $1750 UBET Sprint feature race six at the Winnellie Park greyhounds tonight.

Russell Savige’s Yaringa Lass also deserves respect.

Ruby Doo for Richard Smith in box one race one looks a chance, and her main danger seems to be Evening Glen (for Andrew Lasker).

Hans Spykers has a couple of chances in race two, with Blue Vain Boy who should be hard to beat, and Mallee Pearl who will be doing her best work late.

Dothraki ( Graeme Ferns) should be suited in box seven and with a clear run can figure in the finish in race three.

It is hard to go past Gossip Park (Peter Donnolley) who is ideally suited out of box one in race four.

Tiger’s Spark (Pickard) was impressive last week so is a danger, while Lasker will be looking for good runs from Bombay Rock and Meale’s Chance.

Also for Lasker, Dashing Geek has drawn ideally in box one and will be hard to hold out in race five.

Jamie Hosking – soon to be crowned a back-to-back champion trainer – has the main chances in race seven with Satin Style and Hello Joan.

Out There Jerry (Lasker) is never far away and may take holding out in race eight.

Greg Pickard would be looking for a bold showing from Fabulous Story, and the 383m trip and box seven can assist him in race nine.

Lektra Peck seems headed in the right direction for Brad Yates and is not too far off a win going into race 10.

Steele Bolton will be hoping for a strong effort from Peekaboo Bang, where his best is good enough in race 11.
