LIBRARIES

The end of year school holidays is an exciting time for kids but can often be a busy time for parents.

City of Darwin Libraries has come to the rescue with a jampacked free school holiday program from tomorrow (Monday, December 18 until Friday, January 28, 2018.)

These school holidays, encourage the kids to continue reading and register for Libraries’ Summer Reading Club. There are loads of cool prizes to be won. The club is open to all ages, so head to your closest library to register. Don’t forget library membership is free for all Northern Territory residents.

Visit the Libraries’ Tech Zone where you can have fun with gadgets and gizmos. There are robots, VR Goggles and more. Throughout the month, libraries will be hosting free family movies on the big screen and family story time for all ages.

Explore the Brick by Brick exhibition about Australia’s capital city Canberra, through the use of LEGO. Register for guided sessions in the morning, or drop in for free play in the afternoon. Keep an eye out on the website for your opportunity to register. If you’re five years or older, then you’re invited to join the Corrugated Iron Crew in a Game On adventure. Take part in a fun and educational workshop where you’ll meet a Nao Robot. Bookings for these activities open on January 1.

City of Darwin Libraries has all of this and so much more to offer these school holidays. Visit darwin.nt.gov.au/libraries to see the full program of activities and to book.
