TERRITORY model Tahan Lew Fatt has her sights set on the stars after being announced as a finalist for Miss Universe.

Ms Lew Fatt, a former grid girl and contestant on TV’s Big Brother who grew up in Darwin, has been announced as a Miss Universe Australia Victorian finalist, beating a field of 30 to move one step closer to realising a lifelong dream.

Her Supercar driver partner Dave Reynolds said he expected Ms Lew Fatt’s bid to follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Hawkins to be challenging but realistic.

“She is an extremely good looking girl with a personality to match. She has a wonderful heart and has a diverse culture with an Aboriginal, Chinese and Malaysian background. I am sure she will impress the judges.’’

And for those who think he is punching above his weight?

“A bloke once stopped me on the street,’’ said Reynolds. “He looked at me and said ‘shit you have hit that one out of the park’. “I am expecting a lot more of that should she become Miss Universe.’’
