Grant fund for mining exploration

Sunday Territorian - - NEWS -

MINING exploration programs can now receive up to $125,000 in grants from the Northern Territory Government.

Applications for the first grants program — Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations — are now open.

Primary Industry and Resources Minister Ken Vowles said the program would provide collaborative funding for the costs of drilling in areas of the Territory where there was a lack of geological information.

“The Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations program will help fill the gaps in our knowledge about the resources potential of certain areas,” Mr Vowles said.

The program provides cofunding of up to 50 per cent, to a maximum of $125,000 for diamond drilling programs and $100,000 for non-diamond drilling programs and geophysical surveys.

Funding is for programs in 2018. Applications close May 24.
