Beachfront named the nation’s best
AFTER a considerable multimillion-dollar investment and redevelopment, iconic Nightcliff foreshore pub the Beachfront Hotel has been crowned the ‘ Best Sporting Entertainment Venue’ in Australia at the recent National Awards for Excellence.
Hospitality NT chief executive officer Des Crowe said he was delighted to see the new look Beachfront Hotel had undergone a complete transformation and was now receiving deserved national recognition.
“It has the look and feel of an upmarket beachside hotel, with a state-of-the-art sports bar, modern facilities and customer focus,” Mr Crowe said.
Beachfront general manager and part owner, Guy Dunne accepted the award at a ceremony at the Gold Coast last Monday, September 17.
“Obviously it’s a fantastic award to be recognised with on the national level,” he said.
“We also won the local Territory award with Hospitality NT earlier in May this year.
“This time we were up against some of the best venues in Australia and there’s some pretty big ones out there, so to achieve this title and bring it back to Darwin is quite an honour.”
He said Beachfront recently underwent a major, multimilliondollar renovation which saw them bring in the latest in sports bar viewing options and betting facilities for their customers.
“We have Darwin’s largest indoor screen, it’s a 250-inch super screen so you can enjoy all your favourite sports at any time of the day in airconditioned comfort,” he said.
“We’ve got over 12, 75-inch high definition screens throughout the venue, so even if your sport of choice isn’t on the big screen, you’ll be able to see it somewhere in the venue.
“We’ve also got a surround sound audio system, so the sports are live and loud.
“We think we’ve got one of the best spots and service in the northern suburbs of Darwin and offer a great alternative for going into town and this national award has just confirmed that.”
