Feature race is wide open

- JOSH SPASARO

THE SBA Office National Sprint (537m) feature race five promises to be a good-quality distance run at the Winnellie Park greyhounds tonight.

All runners appear to have some sort of chance.

Dust And Sand for Graeme Ferns is in good form, and with early luck is a leading contender.

Barbie’s Chance (Chris Blackman), Quintus Maximus and Lost In Orbit (both for Jamie Hosking) also have claims. It is hard to knock the form

Kakadu Kate (Russell of Savige), and even from the “squeeze” box four she will prove hard to hold out in race one which starts at 5.37pm.

The Leta Smith-trained Elite Falcon has drawn ideally out in box eight, so expect quick improvement from the two-year-old in race two.

Underestimated trainer Simon Nathanael would be hopeful of a strong performance from his charge Mileeka, and box seven will assist her chances in race three.

It is a tricky race four with plenty of chances, including Imitate (Smith) who is not far off another win, and Cairnlea Buster (Andrew Lasker).

Sunbaker (Lasker) is not doing too much wrong of late, and stepping out in trip coming out of box eight looks ideal in race six.

Choice Way (Hosking) is also capable, while we are looking for improvement from Barcia Size (Brian Kelleher) in this field.

Distant Shores (Blackman) and Swansee (Ferns) are capable of fighting out the finish in race seven.

It is a small field in race eight to finish the program, and there does not appear to be a lot between Crash Zone (Savige), Well Off and Kappa (both for Ron Phillips). NBL, Rd 2 WNBL, Rd 2
