New arrivals spice up promising Winnellie card

-

WITH some new dogs arriving in Darwin, there is an excellent 10-race card on at Winnellie Park tonight, with the first race at 5.57pm.

In the first, the Ron Phillips-trained Will But Win from box eight looks to be well suited to this race.

There will be some good competition from Dyna Yona (Leta Smith) and Coolazar (leading trainer Russell Savige).

Punters might also want to keep an eye out for new dog Eight Jabiru’s (Phillips), who has come up from Bendigo.

In race two, Zamlee Magic (Jamie Hosking) should be hard to beat if he gets a clear start from box eight.

In race three, the Graeme Ferns-trained Swansea Shannon is likely to be fighting for favouritism along with Triple Crown Ria (Phillips), Sunset Chappie (Savige) and Out There Jerry (Andrew Lasker).

In race four, the Phillipstrained Ruffs from box four should be hard to beat.

But he could be pushed all the way by Secret Gold (Savige).

Race five is a punters’ nightmare, with all dogs having legitimate winning claims in this race. It might be smart to follow Savige’s Never Fear from box eight.

In race six, Allen Ichiro (Savige, box one) and Quintus Maximus (box five, Hosking) are likely to be close at the finish

Race seven seems to be between Savige’s Yaringa Lass and Harrison Brown’s Tiger’s Spark, while Lasker’s Dashing Geek might surprise

Race eight seems to be set up for likely favourite Ashby Blast (Phillips).

In race nine, the Peter Donnolley-owned and trained Gossip Park is in great winning form and looks to be the standout.

Race 10 is a tough one to finish, with Buster Norris (Simon Nathanael, box one) and Balkan Babe (Leta Smith, box seven) the main chances.
