Kreuzer issues ‘fixed’

- CHRIS CAVANAGH

CARLTON ruckman Matthew Kreuzer says he is fighting fit, confident heartrelated issues which led to him missing the final six rounds of the season are now behind him.

Kreuzer suffered an elevated heart rate during the Blues’ Round 17 match against St Kilda.

He had another scare as he prepared to return to the field against Fremantle four weeks later.

“The body is good now,” Kreuzer told the club’s website.

“All of those issues are fixed — I got some good work in during the off-season.

“Training has also been really good.

“I haven’t missed anything yet.

“I’m looking forward to getting through to Christmas and then really getting going after that.”

Kreuzer, 29, said he had been enjoying working with new ruck coach Hamish McIntosh, who had taught him some “new tricks” and had been impressed by the development of young ruck Tom De Koning who had “put on a bit of size” over the off-season.
