A JOB WITH MICKEY AND MINNIE
WORKING at the happiest place on earth is a dream for most but it’s now a reality for Darwin’s Sharon Kamber.
This Friday Ms Kamber will embark on an incredible adventure to Walt Disney World in Florida where she will become a cast member.
She will be working at one of the park’s four destinations and be involved with rides, parades and shows. Ms Kamber was nervous but eager to begin the journey.
“When I found out I started to tear up quickly,” she said.
“Disney has always meant something to me, Every song and character has a special message.
“It’s one of those places you don’t really understand until you go. Saying it’s the happiest place on earth is silly but so true.”
Ms Kamber reflected on her trip to Disneyland Paris 10 years ago and said she never thought the opportunity was possible.
“I would never have imagined ten years later I’d be going to work at Walt Disney World and my boss is Mickey Mouse,” she said.
Her dream is to work at the Hollywood Studios park but said it was an honour in general to work for the company.
She was keen to bring Territory flavour to the park and encouraged others to apply.
“Go for it, don’t hold back,” she said.
