NT doco filmmakers in spotlight
THE Territory is being thrust on to the silver screen, with a variety of local screen practitioners chosen to develop documentaries for national television.
The Red Ochre initiative helps indigenous screen practitioners from the Territory to develop documentaries to be broadcast on NITV and SBS on Demand.
Brindle Films, Viviana Petyarre and 360 Degree Film/Charmaine Ingram were chosen to be part of the project.
Tourism and Culture Minister Lauren Moss was thrilled for Territorian talent to be showcased on television.
“We are really excited to partner with NITV on such a great, practical professional development opportunity for emerging Territory Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander screen practitioners to showcase their skills on a national platform,” she said.
Applicants had to submit documentary ideas.
Successful applicants were chosen for their creative vision and the strength of their stories.
