Sydney housing ‘unfair’

-

NSW Labor leader Michael Daley will direct the Greater Sydney Commission to revise “unfair” housing supply targets across the city if he is elected premier.

Labor claims Western Sydney is bearing the brunt of “rampant” residential development while blue ribbon suburbs are not allocated their share.

“It’s not fair to exempt some areas from taking on their fair share while allowing other communities to get clobbered,” Mr Daley said in a release.

Labor says the commission’s plans show Hunters Hill is expected to take 150 new dwellings over five years, Mosman and Woollahra 300 and Willoughby 1250 dwellings.

Blacktown has a target of 13,950 dwellings, CanterburyBankstown 13,250 and Parramatta 21,650.

But Gladys Berejiklian told reporters yesterday she was “incredibly” pleased with the commission’s work.
