Service to help older Aussies

-

nal aff ng THE Australian Government has introduced an Age Care Navigator trial service to assist and guide older Australians and their families to make informed choices about their aged care needs and to access from the aged care system.

In the Northern Territory, COTA NT is providing an information hub for the Greater Darwin area and community hubs in Darwin and Alice Springs with potential reach into surrounding communities such as Batchelor, Katherine and Nhulunbuy.

Aged Care Navigators can help you and your community through face to face meetings and telephone conversations, information on the aged care system, access to My Aged Care, filling in forms and more.

This service is for people who need information about aged care options or help to access aged care supports.

This means older people, their families, friends and others who want to link with aged care supports.

The services are particularly aimed at helping people who live in remote areas, have limited access to internet or other technologies and who are unlikely to seek aged care support without assistance from others.

Talk to our friendly Aged Care Navigator at Expo and find out what help she can provide for you and your family.
