MANU ON THE MENU AT TASTE FESTIVAL

- RAPHAELLA SAROUKOS

TOP End foodies flocked to the Territory Taste Festival at the weekend to sink their teeth into delicious eats.

It was Rebecca Bryen’s first visit to the annual festival and she enjoyed every moment.

“I’m coming back next year,” she said.

“The atmosphere is really good. I like that it’s a lot of local stuff we didn’t know about, plus the restaurants we already knew as well. I really like the curries, I just enjoy a bit of heat.”

In its first year in the new location at Darwin Cruise Ship Terminal, the festival featured more than 20 stalls showcasing Darwin’s fresh produce and multicultural cuisine.

For the first time Cossies Bar and Bistro got a chance to showcase their southern fried chicken sliders, braised pork ribs and honeycomb cheesecake. Bartender Beau Chirgwin-Schmidt was thrilled with the bistro’s food.

“It’s always good to showcase what we can make,” he said. “We love the vibrant energy, the wonderful selections and the happy crowd.” The festival continues today.
