Dog finds pot in pants
AN 18-year-old allegedly attempting to carry 200g of cannabis on to Groote Eylandt in his pants was caught by police dog Lena.
Police allege the man travelled from Darwin with intentions to head to Numbulwar.
The man, who was flying with his young family, was searched by dog operations unit officers along with drug detection dog Lena when they allegedly found the drugs.
He was charged with possess trafficable quantity schedule 2 dangerous drug and supply schedule 2 dangerous drug less commercial quantity indigenous community. He will appear in Numbulwar Local Court next month.
