Infamous five team up for a superior exhibit
THE axis of Darwin’s art world has tilted at the hands of ‘The Infamous Five’ – a new exhibition featuring the work of five renowned Top End artists.
The Infamous Five Have a Smashing Exhibition promises a varied yet cohesive collection of artwork, with artists Ivor Cole, Rob Brown, Bill Davies, Franck Gohier and Colin Holt each bring their own style to the table.
“Although (the artwork) is all very different, they work well together,” Cole said.
With about 300 people attending the opening night of the exhibition last Thursday, Cole said the show had kicked off “without a hitch”.
“It was great to see so many Darwinites here to support local artists,” he said.
“There’s a strong current of local artists who have been working here for decades and all of this art is at your doorstep to engage with.”
The exhibition, located at Gallery 5, 24 Gardens Hill Cres, is open to the public on July 6, 7, 20 and 21 between 10am and 5pm or by appointment.
