Tiny wombats recover together

- KRYSTAL MIZZI

THE tiny joey duo Tin-Tin and Dumpling are the new kids on the block at Wild Paws Wildlife Shelter.

Rescued from their mother’s pouches after they were struck on the side of the road within days of each other, thankfully both joeys were safe and unharmed.

The new best friends, both estimated at four-months-old, have found comfort with one another feeling at ease with the sounds of their heartbeats.

It’s joey season at the moment and due to the longer days and wet weather, there has been a spike in the number of animal deaths.

The volunteers at Wild Paws are urging all drivers to take care on the roads this winter.
