DRAGONS women’s coach Bas Lewis credits his undefeated NRL NT team’s success to “family” values, after it defeated Sharks 30-18 at Territory Rugby League Stadium.

“Everyone on the team greets each other with a hug and asks how their day has been,” he said.

There is little doubt the team chemistry is strong.

The talent of players such as dual try scorer Josephine Wong and centre Elle Hardwick helps cement the success of Lewis’ coaching efforts. But Sharks kept Nightcliff honest.

“Every time we play them, we’re getting closer to them,” coach Damon Currie said.

Souths defeated Bears 16-10 and Palmerston thwarted Sistaz 36-6.
