5.30PM, WEDNESDAY, ABC ME ITCHINGHAM – aka “Itch” – Lofte (Samuel Ireland, pictured middle) is no ordinary teenager. While his peers play sports and collect footy cards, Itch spends his days scouring for elements from the periodic table and conducting explosive experiments in his bedroom. When Itch gets his hands on a radioactive rock, which could potentially be a new and clean source of energy, he finds himself dealing with tougher foes than an overprotective mother and a jealous class jock. His discovery also attracts the attention of Lucy; the girl he has been admiring quietly from afar for years. Though Lucy is popular and dating Itch’s nemesis, she’s also the daughter of a scientist who shares Itch’s love of the laboratory life. The pair of them, along with Itch’s sister and cousin, work together to protect the rock from the evil forces that are eager to snatch it for their own sinister agenda.
