ARNHEM LAND rapper Danzal Baker, aka Baker Boy, has represented the Territory with two tracks in Triple J’s Hottest 100.
The 23-year-old came in at No.44 of the countdown with his song Cool As Hell and No.98 with Meditjin featuring New Zealand rapper JessB.
Born in Darwin and raised in the Arnhem Land communities of Milingimbi and Maningrida, Baker Boy has become known for rapping both in English and Yolngu Matha.
He also made it into the publicly voted countdown two years ago with his tracks
Marryuna, featuring Yirrmal, and Cloud 9, featuring Kian, marking the first time a song featuring indigenous language had made the countdown.
