Hounds to yap up attention
THE snoots are out for Darwin’s biggest greyhound gathering.
Today the Greyhound Rehoming Association NT is hosting its first greyhound walk of 2020, dedicated to raising money for the World Wide Fund for Nature – Australia.
The walk also promotes the fostering and adoption of retired greyhounds.
Greyhound owner Kate Scott and her son Nick, 9, will be attending the walk with their dog Chief and foster hound Jonny.
“We’re what you call a foster fail,” she said. “We applied to foster Chiefy and after about three months we decided as a family we just couldn’t give him up.”
Ms Scott hoped sweet and playful Jonny would find his forever home during the walk.
The walk begins at 5pm at Nightcliff Foreshore. A gold coin donation is appreciated.
