Win gives Wildcats sniff at top place
PERTH Wildcats have fired a shot across the bow of the Sydney Kings on the eve of the NBL finals.
The Wildcats held off a late charge by the Kings to score a 110-100 victory at RAC Arena last night.
The result ended the Kings’ three-game winning streak and left the door ajar for the Cats to pinch top spot on the ladder.
Sydney stay one win ahead of second-placed Perth, with two games each left to play.
A fired-up Bryce Cotton top-scored with 30 points as the Cats equalled their highest score for the season.
Nick Kay was also outstanding with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Clint Steindl was hot from long range, dropping five three-pointers.
