DOC MARTIN
7.30PM, SATURDAY, ABC
IT’S been nine years since Martin Ellingham (Martin Clunes) arrived in Portwenn. In that time much has changed. He’s married lovely local teacher Louisa (Caroline Catz, pictured with Clunes), had a son and developed a real affinity for the sleepy little village he now calls home.
But despite all that the Doc remains just as irritable and strait-laced as ever. Oh, and the sight of blood still makes him squeamish. It’s for these reasons that his GP practice is now under threat. After a string of complaints, a representative from the General Medical Council arrives in town to investigate whether Doc Martin’s impatient bedside manner makes him unfit to practice. Doc, of course, handles the visit with his usual dismissive approach, which only strengthens the case against him. Could this be the end?
