Liquorice has fun of all sorts

- WILL ZWAR will.zwar@news.com.au

ALL dogs have their special thing, whether it’s surfing, playing dead or jumping through hoops.

But seven-year-old greyhound Liquorice’s talent is a lot more placid, as she sits on the bow of owner Anne Hardwick’s kayak, taking in the Darwin sights.

“She loves it, she’s a ‘sight-hound’, she likes getting around, sniffing the breeze, dogs love stuff like this,” she said. “I wasn’t sure how she’d go but she likes sticking her head out the window and it’s basically the same thing but 360 degrees. From the first launch she was superchill.”

Liquorice and Ms Hardwick’s friendship is the perfect example of the comfort pets and their owners can bring to each other and make every day something special.

Liquorice has gone into the running for the NT News’ Dogs of Oz top dog competition. More details P16-17 or dogsofoz.com.au
