DARWIN Supreme Court Justices Southwood, Barr and Hiley were caught in a potentiall­y precarious situation when they realised their private conversati­ons from the bench were not as private as they thought, now that many are working from home. Justices Hiley and Southwood were exchanging words while hearing a Court of Appeal matter when barrister Peter Elliott, who was appearing in court via video, pointed this fact out to them. “Perhaps I should warn your Honours that people at this end can hear you a hell of a lot better than you can from the bar table,” Mr Elliott said.
