DARWIN Supreme Court Justices Southwood, Barr and Hiley were caught in a potentially precarious situation when they realised their private conversations from the bench were not as private as they thought, now that many are working from home. Justices Hiley and Southwood were exchanging words while hearing a Court of Appeal matter when barrister Peter Elliott, who was appearing in court via video, pointed this fact out to them. “Perhaps I should warn your Honours that people at this end can hear you a hell of a lot better than you can from the bar table,” Mr Elliott said.
