Lockdown no sweat for Amanda

-

ISAAC Newton discovered gravity while he was in lockdown during the plague but he has nothing on Durack resident Amanda Pernechele.

Faced with trying to set up an inflatable pool she bought to surprise her partner Rhys Jarrett for “iso date night” without an electric pump, Ms Pernechele whipped out her hairdryer, some duct tape and a plastic water bottle to do the job.

“Blew it up in 12 seconds flat with my sweet little invention,” she said. “You just have to make sure it’s definitely on the cool setting.”

Coronavirus lockdown led the pair to come up with creative ways to spend time together in their home, including an Easter Egg Hunt and a surprise picnic.

Ms Pernechele also enlisted the help of a pop-up bar service on offer by a Darwin business so the couple could have cocktails by their new pool.
