Diabetes check plunge warning
THERE has been an alarming drop in patients presenting for diabetes check-ups during the coronavirus pandemic.
Doctors say at one major private pathology laboratory there has been a 32 per cent decrease in tests for diabetes compared to February, and they believe this is representative of falls across the country.
Diabetes Australia, the Australian Diabetes Society and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners are urging people with diabetes to have their routine pathology and other check-ups to avoid long-term health damage.
