Fish oil can aid healing

AUSTRALIAN scientists have confirmed regular fish oil consumption effectively helped fight against infection, with the addition of antibiotics.

The research, lead by Flinders University, found the antimicrobial powers of the oil’s fatty acids broke down superbugs’ ability to become resistant to antibiotics.

It found bacterium could not tell the difference between good and bad host fatty acids during an infection.
