- NATHANIEL CHAMBERS

SHELL V-Power Racing Team drivers swapped their supercars for a bat and ball to highlight a bumper weekend of Territory sport with the Supercars and the commencement of the Cricket 365 program.

Drivers Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison who will be contesting the Darwin Triple Crown took to the field for an annual game organised by DXC Technology, a premier partner of the racing team and NT Cricket.

Chairman and CEO of Dick Johnson Racing Ryan Story said having both events happening at the same time showed Darwin’s ability to host sporting events.

“Having both the Repco Supercars Championship and the Cricket 365 happening at the same time goes to show what a great place

Darwin is for sports,” Story said. “I’m proud to see our two wonderful sports come together.”

President of DXC Technology Asia Pacific Seelan Nayagam said the partnership was focused on supporting NT players’ development and cementing Darwin as a destination of choice.

“We are encouraging greater Indigenous participation, driving the development of innovation and skills, and helping communities build new talent pathways and better futures,” he said.

NT Cricket CEO Joel Morrison said that the upcoming cricket program would allow NT Cricket to showcase the best of the Territory on and off the field each winter.
