NEARLY EVERY INTERSTATE SHOOTER HAD A PARTNER IN TOW AS WELL, BOLSTERING THEIR TOURIST SPEND

NT Field and Game hosted a remarkably successful Festival of Clays despite Covid-19 lockdowns.

There were 104 shooters competing over the three-day event, including 34 interstate shooters who were able to make the journey.

They enjoyed challenging sporting clay targets from all directions and of all sizes, with both under and over shotguns and one event for side-by-side guns.

The latter proving to be an obstacle for young Adam Shale who took out Overall NT Champion for the weekend.

He was one of three young fellas who vowed to never own a SxS, but I think in time they will learn to appreciate these fine fowling pieces and he will remember fondly the first time he ever shot one here in the Territory.

The aggregation of three big clay target events in Darwin during July brought over 100 interstate shooters to the NT and has kept them here, for in some cases, months.

A regular visitor to the Festival of Clays has been here with his wife for two months, intends to stay another month and purchased a brand-new Mazda ute while he is here.

spend. The generous sponsorship of Coolalinga Guns and Ammo, their suppliers of Miroku, Dickinson and Fausti shotguns made the Festival of Clays irresistible to both local and interstate shooters.

NT Field and Game thanks them all very much for the support, helping to make the festival the premier sporting clay target shooting event in the Territory.

Congratulations to all the winners in all the grades over the weekend.

I’m sure those who now have a Paul Manners trophy in the cabinet or a new shotgun in the safe will never forget the NT Field and Game Festival of Clays, 2021.

Normal Sunday Mass practice resumes this morning at the Mickett Creek Shooting Complex range from 9am until noon and again every Friday, from 4pm till 8.30pm.

Club guns, ammo and coaching available.

All welcome.
