ABC HOST IN HOSPITAL
THE host of ABC’s Media Watch has tweeted a photo from a hospital bed after he was injured in a car accident.
“Broken hand and pelvis after a thoughtless driver backed into the road without looking and cleaned me up on my bike as I rode to work,” Paul Barry wrote.
Mr Barry, 69, said there would be no episode of Media Watch on Monday because of the incident.
He said he wasn’t sure when he would recover.
“Not sure when I’ll be good to go again. Soon, I hope,” he wrote. In a followup tweet, Mr Barry thanked those who wished him well.
“Wow. Thanks for all the good wishes. I’m lucky. It could have been so much worse,” he wrote. “Brain appears to be intact. And probably no long-term damage.”
