Aussie kayaker ends Games in seventh heaven
AUSTRALIA kayaking paramedic Jo Brigden-Jones has raced her last ever Olympic event, declaring herself delighted with the way she and her K4 crewmates fought their way into the final in Japan on Saturday.
Only an outside chance of even making the race for the medals, the Australians K4 women’s crew finished seventh.
“I think placing seventh in the final is a win for us,” Brigden-Jones, a two-time Olympian said.
“I’m super proud of what we have achieved, especially with the last 18 months being so challenging.
“It was very special to finish off in an Olympic final with those girls. “Brigden-Jones paddled with Catherine McArthur, Shannon Reynolds and Jaime Roberts on the final day of competition.
