Pets fly home in ‘ark’
ONE hundred Aussie pet owners have been reunited with their animals after a private flight from Canada touched down in Melbourne last Monday.
The 74 dogs and 26 cats were returned to their owners after being separated overseas due to Covid restrictions.
Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said Air
Canada’s privately-funded “ark in the sky” project involved months of planning and logistical challenges.
“It’s a very exciting and emotional time for these owners who will be seeing their pets for the first time in many months,” Mr Littleproud said.
The repatriated pets spent 10 days in quarantine.
