HORNET’S TERRITORY DAY STING

- GARY SHIPWAY

THERE is an awesome addition to this Sunday’s Territory Day celebrations – a 10-minute F/A-18A/B Hornet handling display over Darwin’s Mindil Beach.

The aircraft will start the display about 5.35pm, coming in from the west, with the majority of the handling display to be then conducted over water at Mindil Beach.

The supersonic fighter jet will fly over the Cullen Bay and Fannie Bay neighbourhoods.

It is the first time the RAAF has been able to put on a show for the Top End since Covid hit.

Thousands of families will make the annual pilgrimage to the beach for the spectacular free fireworks display.

Territory Day celebrations kick off from 4pm, but the arrival of the Hornet is bound to be a highlight of the evening. To find out more about what’s on visit territoryday.nt.gov.au
