Girls run out of gas
GIRLS in high school are less likely than boys to enjoy fitness tests, a new study has revealed.
Aussie researchers from the University of Queensland found running middle-distances such as 1.8km was rated by female pupils as their most unpopular fitness activity. The study surveyed 221 male and 328 female students at staterun schools who participated in Singapore’s national mandatory fitness test.
Pupils aged 11 to 19 had a positive view overall of fitness testing, and researchers say allfemale classes would help girls.
