Drones spy on koalas

A DRONE monitoring a trial of koala habitats is expected to provide conservationists with a more detailed way to track population numbers.

The 2019-20 summer bushfires decimated koala colonies but deaths were based on modelling, Queensland University of Technology associate professor Grant Hamilton said.

The QUT trial aimed to provide a way to determine koala populations more accurately, Professor Hamilton said.
