Bubs laugh like apes

SCIENTISTS have found babies laugh similarly to chimpanzees.

Researchers with Leiden University in The Netherlands found babies laugh while inhaling and exhaling, unlike adults who laugh mainly during exhalation. Babies’ laughter resembles that of our closest animal cousins, chimpanzees, but as we develop, our laughter becomes more human. Scientists put that down to social learning and the development of the vocal tract.
