Marvel shows its heart
EASTWOOD continued his impressive career by showing plenty of heart on the straight to take out Saturday’s $20,500 TAB Handicap (1200m) at Fannie Bay. After jumping well from the No.2 barrier, the eight-year-old marvel put himself in a good position early, with experienced hoop Vanessa Arnott on board for Top End trainer Tayarn Halter.
And the impressive sprinter made his move at the turn, sneaking in front of Phil Cole’s fancy Vunivalu.
He then put in a good kick 250m from the winning post, but had no shortage of company behind him.
But he held on to prevail. Pembroke Castle (trainer Mark Nyhan, jockey Jason Lyon), She Shines Bright (Pat Johnston, Arnott), Looking For You (Cole, Tessa Townsend), Bon Aire (Cole, Townsend) and Mister Monaro (Nyhan, Stan Tsaikos) also saluted.
