Borroloola in line for upgrades
BORROLOOLA is in line for a big infrastructure upgrade with the NT government delivering improved sporting facilities and a cyclone shelter.
The $6.9m Borroloola Sports Courts and Cyclone Shelter project is set to create a long lasting community product.
The project is funded by the NT government, the McArthur River Mine Community Benefits Trust and Roper Gulf Regional Council.
Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Minister Eva Lawler said the construction would support local jobs. “Our government is investing in projects and initiatives that will drive economic prosperity and job creation, and improve the safety and liveability in communities, right across the Territory,” she said. “Construction of the sports courts and cyclone shelter in Borroloola will support local jobs and provide safety for community residents during tropical events.”
