Alleged sex assault

A 48-YEAR-OLD male has been arrested in relation to an alleged sexual assault incident in Nightcliff.

At 1.05pm on Saturday police received a report of the male attempting to sexually assault an unconscious female at the Rapid Creek footbridge.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested the man at the scene.

He was held in police custody where he was expected to be charged later on Saturday.
